Jr. Project Coordinator

Temporary Student Co-op Position | Enoch Civil Construction

Overview

Enoch Civil Construction is a full service heavy construction company offering services throughout Alberta. We work in both civil and oilfield environments and have a wide range of operation locations. We operate on three key principals: Service, Safety and Satisfaction. We understand the importance of applying all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures. Our customers’ satisfaction is a priority we take seriously. Punctuality, respect of co-workers, cleanliness of equipment and tools and suggestions by employees all form a positive culture that Enoch Construction strives for in the workplace. Enoch Civil Construction is seeking a student interested in Construction Project Coordination to join our project team, located in Stony Plain, AB. The Project Coordinator is an integral part of the Project Management team and will aid in delivering the successful execution of projects through all phases of the project management process. The role will coordinate and track correspondence, material, equipment, scheduling, subcontracts, and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with overall client requirements and specifications
  • Monitor the financial performance and time delivery of projects
  • Assist in daily reporting
  • Code project financials to the appropriate cost code
  • Create and disseminate regular progress reports
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Assist with the coordination of equipment, materials, and manpower throughout project life cycle
  • Regularly communicate and coordinate with various project stakeholders
  • Identify efficiencies or process improvement opportunities within project life cycle
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Management and Operations team
  • Change order management on lump sum projects
  • Other duties as required

Job Type: Temporary 4 to 8 months maximum

Pay: $24.00 / hour

Student Engineer

Ovintiv

Overview

Ovintiv’s program is a comprehensive student program (CO-OP and tradition stream accepted) designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and experiential training while giving students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in school in a real-world setting. You will work closely with an experienced mentor on a project with real responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to your team. You will have opportunities to demonstrate your initiative and determination in ways that make a positive impact on Ovintiv and further develop your talents.

Previous interns have worked on the optimization of mud motors on drilling rigs, completion design efficiency, economic analysis of well spacing trials, analyzed automated well control, and optimized gas processing equipment. As an engineering student you will likely be placed in one of the below roles, in the Calgary office or in the field depending on business need and your experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reservoir & Development: providing technical and economic analysis to help establish a development strategy for our resource plays to include well planning, spacing, recovery, etc.
  • Drilling: designing and implementing drilling and work-over programs to develop our producing properties at a maximum economic rate.
  • Completions: overseeing the design and execution of completions for wells drilled including well planning, casing design, material and equipment selection, evaluation, stimulation design, quality assurance and post-job evaluation.
  • Operations & Production: evaluating well performance and developing new techniques and approaches to enhance production rates and reduce operating costs.
  • Infrastructure, Water & Facilities: designing and maintaining gathering and processing facilities including pipelines, compressor stations and gas processing and treating facilities to ensure that gas flows from the wellhead to the sale point.

Required Qualifications

  • Petroleum, Chemical, geological, electrical, mechanical engineering disciplines encouraged but not required.
  • Strong academic standing preferred.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time engineering student at through December 2026 at an accredited Canadian university (3rd or 4th year preferred)
  • Current student opportunities are at least 4 months in length and will be based on candidate interest and business need.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
